This past week one of South Africa's wealthiest men has pledged to donate half of his personal fortune (about $2.5 billion) to health and education in South Africa.
Patrice Motsepe is now being touted as South Africa's Bill Gates.
What is most incredible about this pledge is that it is from his own personal wealth, and not from business or investment profits.
This kind of commitment is unprecedented in the country, though Motsepe is not the first South African $ billionaire. It's not often businesspeople make headlines for all the right reasons, so big-ups to the Motsepes for representing black South Africa.
