African American actress Sanaa Lathan has been named the new face of hair care brand Pantene.
This is a big deal because it indicates that major brands are now recognising the buying power of people of colour, and are trying to attract them as consumers of their products.
It is also very exciting to see women of colour being recognised for their beauty. And that major decision-makers in large companies are realising that beautiful women of colour can sell products as much as beautiful white women can.
